From educational displays to decorative solutions, stainless steel hollow spheres may be the unique solution you’re looking for. They will easily catch the attention of any viewer with its reflective design and hollow shape.
One of the most appealing features of these spheres is the stainless steel material that these spheres are made with. They are manufactured with a 200 series stainless steel making them highly corrosion-resistant and durable, especially in low temperature environments. In order to make this type of stainless more resistant to corrosion, less nickel was added to its composition, resulting in a loss of magnetic capability. However, a magnetic potential is still possible with this type of stainless through a cold work process which uses cold temperatures to induce change in the crystalline makeup of the steel.
The stainless steel feature also contains a polishable mirror finish, adding a sleek design and clean presentation and is able to be produced in many sizes ranging from 6 to 34 inches diametrically. For these reasons, these spheres are most popular for applications in museums, classrooms, and gardens.
One thing to remember when handling anything made of stainless steel, especially one used in a hollow shape design, is that though it is corrosion-resistant, it is not dent-resistant. Dropping or hitting these spheres can create dents or dimples in the material, so these will need to be handles with care.
